The Candy Buffet

Candy buffetWe’ve had several inquiries about how to create a candy buffet for your wedding reception or special event. Candy buffets are a great way to share sweets with your guests by allowing them to select the type of candy they want.

A candy buffet can be made very easily with a variety of different styles of containers (glass is prettiest). You can find beautiful apothecary style jars – even oversized martini and champagne glasses can add variety and height to your candy buffet table. We even shopped Ebay for a variety of amber (yellow) colored compote glasses for a candy buffet we were creating to go with our gold autumn themed event. Once we found all the containers (different styles and heights) we selected a single color theme (white) with a variety of candy types and flavors.

Then add little scoops or gravy ladles and supply small favor bags or containers for guests. (The smaller the better – this keeps guests from becoming too greedy!) We used place cards to let guests know the different types of candies on the buffet.

You could also place cute favor containers at place settings with a thank you tag that says something like “Isn’t love sweet” and thank your guests for sharing in your special day by offering a trip to the candy buffet. This will prevent guests from taking more than their share.

It’s always a hit and makes your guests feel like they’re in a candy store!
