Real SoMd Wedding: Personal Details and Treasured Rituals

We can think of three words that describe Tricia and Sean’s wedding day: Elegant. Family. Laughter. (Just look at the pictures – could Sean’s smile get any bigger??)

The couple planned their April 29, 2014, wedding at Flora Corner Farm in Mechanicsville and put together a shabby chic-inspired celebration that was focused on their happiness and their family. The bridal party was the couple’s five children and grandson. The groom – a recently retired Marine – wore his dress blues, and the bride wore a custom made strapless, ivory gown. Instead of favors, the couple invited their guests to fill little burlap bags with favorite candies.

Tricia and Sean even shared their nightly ritual with their guests: In lieu of a wedding cake, Oreos and milk were served. And no one was more surprised than the groom when the bride serenaded him with “Your Song” during the reception.
