Real SoMd Wedding: Backyard Rainbow Wedding

When bride Katy saw a wedding dress with color underneath, she knew exactly what she wanted to wear the day she and Corey married. But she had a new problem: Which color to choose? Rather than pick, Katy convinced Corey to use all the colors of the rainbow at their May 14, 2016, wedding. In keeping with their casual theme, they dressed the bridal party in colors, too, and everyone wore Converse sneakers. They followed their ceremony with a reception that included cornhole, a photo booth, and a barbecue complete with a beer truck and full bar.

Even the weather made their day special, leading to a moment that Katy told us still gives the couple goosebumps. The skies cleared in time for their ceremony, which was significant enough considering the days of rain that proceeded their wedding day. But it began to rain before the reception, stopping only when the DJ played two songs in memory of their late grandparents. “The sky cleared, the sun shone brightly, and we knew that our grandparents were there with us,” Katy told us. “We always talk about how that was the best moment of the day – aside from marrying each other, of course!”
