Surrounded by history and a few surprises, Katie and Justin married in a historic Calvert County chapel on June 8, 2013. Peacock feathers were part of every decoration, and the colors of those feathers – vibrant blue, green, and purple – were brought to life by decorators Serendipity Bridal and Events throughout the day’s décor.
The couple celebrated with the party of their dreams at Katie’s grandmother’s farm. Katie dressed there with her bridesmaids before the ceremony, and the reception for 250 was set in a field at the bottom of a hill on the property. Justin, a woodworker, fashioned huge letters spelling L-O-V-E that sat atop the hill by the farmhouse.
Perhaps the biggest surprise was the horse-drawn carriage that Katie’s dad ordered for the big day, knowing this was something she wanted but would never schedule for herself. Their guests were delighted to see the couple arrive at the reception in such a romantic way!
