Pastels Rule Pantone’s 2016 Color of the Year

For the first time, the color experts at Pantone have chosen two colors for its 2016 Color of the Year: Rose Quartz and Serenity.

The two colors offer a balance – Rose Quartz is a warm pink, while Serenity is a cool blue. Pantone said the colors were chosen to reflect consumers’ search for well-being and mindfulness amidst the stresses of daily life.

Here’s how Pantone describes the two colors:

Rose Quartz: Conveys compassion and a sense of composure

Serenity: Weightless and airy … bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times.

Luckily for couples planning 2016 weddings, Rose Quartz and Serenity are easy to use. Obviously, they work well paired together or with the purple you get when you combine the two. Pantone also suggests pairing this pink and blue with other mid-tones like greens, yellows, browns, and shades of pink. The colors work with bolder hues and sparkly silvers, too.
