Introducing Greenery, Pantone’s 2017 Color of the Year

Every year, we look forward to the unveiling of Pantone’s Color of the Year. Last year’s duo of Serenity and Rose Quartz was a relaxing, calming duo that worked well at weddings.

This year, the color experts at Pantone have chosen Greenery, a yellow-green that reminds us of the first blooms and buds of spring. Like all greens, Greenery is refreshing and revitalizing. It symbolizes new beginnings, a meaning that we think makes it perfect for use at weddings!

The color is also reassuring, said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute: “Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another, and a larger purpose.”

If you’re getting married and want to use Greenery in your color scheme, you’re in luck! Greenery is versatile and lends itself to many kinds of color combinations. Pantone offers sample color combinations using Greenery with neutrals, brights, deeper shades, pastels, and metallics on its website. It even goes great with 2016’s Serenity and Rose Quartz!
