Children add an adorable, sweet touch to any ceremony. However, keeping them from having a major meltdown right before going down the aisle can be tricky. At one wedding I attended, as soon as the doors opened, the little lady carrying the petals in the basket screamed at the top of her lungs and ran away back into the lobby. While this was slightly humorous, the girl’s mother and bride didn’t laugh at all. Practicing a lot before the big day is the best way to ease a child’s mind. Be sure to rehearse on more than one ocassion and try to fill the pews with as many onlookers as possible. Some brides or parents promise the youngsters a gift right after the wedding, which encourages them to behave well during the ceremony.
