Dear Readers,

Happy Valentine's Day and welcome to another edition of Wedding Trends. For those of you receiving this e-newsletter for the first time, Wedding Trends is one of the ways we like to keep in touch with Southern Maryland Brides and Grooms. In addition to providing you with information on local bridal events, we'll provide you with planning tips as well as trends in weddings.

If you've been receiving our e-newsletter for quite some time now, you're pretty used to our format. But now we're going to shake things up a bit and start adding a little variety. So in addition to our traditional e-newsletters we're adding streaming video as well. Click here to watch this month's Video.

Although A Bridal Affair is typically the last bridal show of the season for our region, we've started planning more bridal events at various venues throughout Southern Maryland. Be sure to check our local bridal events calendar for upcoming events we're planning after our bridal show. (Like The Rehearsal Dinner at the J.T. Daugherty Conference Center in March and A Bridal Tea at the Colony South Hotel & Conference Center in April.) I hope to see you at an upcoming event!

Southern Maryland Wedding Guide Publishes First
Winter/Spring Magazine Edition

Local couple Amber and Shane Moyerman of Port Tobacco were the winners of The Southern Maryland Wedding Guide magazine’s recent Cover Picture Contest. The couple’s winning picture, photographed by local photographer Sandi Foraci of Sandi Foraci Photography, graces the cover of the magazine’s first Winter/Spring edition.

“Like all the photos on the covers of our magazine, the Moyermans submitted a photo for entry in our contest,” said Kimberly Bean, the magazine’s founder and chief executive officer. “We open the contest to couples who were married in any of the southern Maryland counties of Charles, St. Mary’s, Calvert and Prince George’s. Then we post the entries on our website at SoMdWeddings.com so our readers can vote for the picture they think should be on the cover.” More ...

Q. When will you hold your next cover picture contest and how can I enter?

A. Until this year, we only held one Cover Picture Contest because we only published our magazine once a year. Now that we are publishing our magazine biannually, watch for our next contest this summer. Our Summer/Fall magazine is scheduled to be published in July, meaning we will most likely have a contest in May or June. Stay tuned to SoMdWeddings.com for more information. We'll surely announce it.

That reminds us - if you're planning to enter your wedding picture for a future contest, don't forget to let your photographer know when you're going over the list of pictures you would like them to take. Tell them you'll be needing a vertical shot for entry in the contest!
