Dear Readers, It's officially Fall! With mild temperatures and the beauty of the season's changing leaves, its no wonder there are so many weddings that take place here in Southern Maryland during September and October. It's also during these months that you have a chance to attend a couple of bridal events before the holidays. Bridal Show season starts soon and we have some exciting things in the works too! SAVE THE DATE! On Sunday, October 29, 2006, "A Bridal Shower" will be the first in a series of mini bridal events that Southern Maryland Weddings will be sponsoring. We know how stressful wedding planning can be so we thought of a way to inspire your wedding planning while having fun. Not only are we providing lunch with mimosas, but we're going to sweeten your palate with some wedding cake and other goodies (we've got to keep some stuff a secret). We'll share some of the latest trends in wedding favors and decorations as well as give you some ideas for bridesmaid luncheons and bridal showers (so make sure you bring Mom and your bridesmaids). We're holding our first event at the newly opened Sleep Inn & Suites in La Plata. (They have some gorgeous banquet rooms and jacuzzi suites that are perfect for rehearsal dinners, showers and out-of-town guests.) Oh-and I almost forgot - Sleep Inn & Suites will be giving away a Romance package. A stay in their honeymoon suite, complete with a jacuzzi tub, champagne & chocolates! Know someone who recently got married? Be sure to let them know that we're going to be holding another Cover Picture Contest in November. That's right, we're planning a winter edition of our magazine to be released in January. So we'll be needing another couple's photo for our cover. We'll be accepting entries during the month of October and we'll post the entries on our website for voting in early November.
