Many couples are not only committed to each other – they’re also committed to taking care of the Earth. They consciously make planet-friendly decisions as they plan their wedding day. This eco-friendly styled wedding shoot organized by Pamela Alston of Classic Celebrations and Kishana Highgate of Kishana Highgate Photography is designed to inspire you to “go green” on your wedding day.
The vendors involved in this styled shoot sought to reduce, reuse, and recycle for a truly eco-friendly day. The elegant gown was made of sustainable silk fabric, and the flowers were local and embellished with recycled buttons. Instead of a ring bearer’s pillow, the rings were presented on an abandoned bird’s nest. The invitations and table linens were recycled, too – the invitations were made of recycled paper, and the linens were repurposed curtain fabric. Lace from an old dress got a second life as decorations and wedding favors. Factor in the beautiful outdoor locations at Tucker Road Community Center and a private back yard, and you’ll find green beauty no matter where you look.
